Stastia West to succeed Susannah Pierce as Shell Canada President and Country Chair

After four years as President and Country Chair and 16 years at Shell, Susannah Pierce has elected to leave Shell service. Stastia West, Vice President Canada Integrated Gas, will succeed Susannah Pierce effective March 3, 2025.
“It has been an honour to serve as President and Country Chair for Shell’s Canadian business and to be part of Shell for over 16 years. I am incredibly proud to have contributed to some of the company’s most significant investments in Canada, including LNG Canada and the Polaris/Atlas Carbon Capture and Sequestration project and having played a role in launching the B.C. Centre for Innovation and Clean Energy which has become a critical part of the clean technology ecosystem in B.C. and Canada,” says Susannah Pierce. “Working alongside a highly skilled team of professionals dedicated to providing the energy the world needs at this pivotal time has been a privilege. I look forward to continuing to advocate for the critical infrastructure our country needs to drive investment, create jobs, and foster greater prosperity for Canadians. Stastia started her career in Shell Canada and has over 25 years of energy industry experience. She has held a variety of senior roles across Shell, including in Finance, Commercial Strategy, Mergers and Acquisitions and Asset Management and worked in a variety of locations including the United States and Australia. Stastia returned to Canada in 2023 and is based out of Calgary where she has the great pleasure of being part of the Canada Country Coordination Team and leading Shell’s Integrated Gas business in Canada.
Stastia will continue leading Shell’s Integrated Gas business in Canada in addition to being President and Country Chair.

Susannah Pierce biography:
Susannah Pierce is Shell Canada President and Country Chair and Vice-President Corporate Relations Americas. She has spent most of her more than 25-year career advancing major energy infrastructure projects in the US and Canada and leading corporate relations teams around the world.
As Shell Canada Limited President and Country Chair, she represents Shell’s integrated lines of business in Canada including upstream, integrated gas, downstream, renewable energy solutions and Shell trading. She is also accountable for Shell’s overall reputation and government and stakeholder relations in the country. As Vice President, Corporate Relations Americas, she leads a team of over 200 professionals responsible for government relations, communications and social performance.
Susannah is recognized for her leadership in bringing business, governments, communities, Indigenous groups and other non-governmental actors together to support the development of large infrastructure projects by building shared interests and shared value.
Stastia West biography:
Stastia has more than 25 years of energy industry experience and has held a variety of senior roles across Shell, including in Finance, Commercial Strategy and Mergers and Acquisitions. Stastia has also had a number of international postings, including Commercial Manager for Shell’s Queensland Gas Company business in Australia and General Manager, East Coast for Shell Australia. Before assuming her current role, Stastia was based in Houston in Mergers and Acquisitions and was General Manager Deal Execution for the Americas.
Currently, Stastia is Vice President, Canada Integrated Gas, and is responsible for Shell Canada’s upstream business and the governance of Shell’s 40 per cent equity interest in LNG Canada. Stastia is a committed leader who has a passion for bringing people together, encouraging growth and empowering teams.
