OFFICIAL RULES

Open to residents of Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia only (“Contest Territory”)

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. The Shell Lottery Win Free Fuel Contest (the “Contest”) is sponsored by Shell Canada Products (the “Sponsor”). The Contest begins at 12:00:00 AM Eastern Time (“ET”) on November 4, 2024 and ends at 11:59:59 PM ET on January 5, 2025 (the “Contest Period”). AIR MILES Loyalty Inc., the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (“OLG”), British Columbia Lottery Corporation ("BCLC"), Alberta Gaming, Liquor & Cannabis Commission (“AGLC”), Sask Lotteries (“Sask”), and Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries Corporation (“MBLL”) are in no way connected to the management of this Contest.

1. ELIGIBILITY: To enter and be eligible to win, an entrant must (a) be a legal resident of Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, or British Columbia (collectively the “Contest Territory”) who has reached the age of eligibility to purchase a lottery ticket at time of entry in the province in which they reside; (b) have a valid AIR MILES® collector number at the onset of the Contest and throughout the Contest Period; and (c) not be an employee of any of the Releasees (see Rule 5) or any of their affiliated legal entities or agents, their respective advertising or promotional agencies, the independent contest organization, or a member of any such employee’s immediate family (regardless of where they live) or persons with whom they are domiciled (whether related to the employee or not). In these Official Rules, “immediate family” means mother, father, brothers, sisters, sons, daughters and/or legal or common-law spouse.

If you are not already an AIR MILES collector, you may enroll in the AIR MILES Reward Program by visiting airmiles.ca. By enrolling to become an AIR MILES collector, you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of the AIR MILES Reward Program as amended from time to time. For the purposes of these Official Rules, the entrant is the individual in whose name the AIR MILES collector number has been established and this is the individual to whom the prize will be awarded if they are selected and declared a winner.

2. HOW TO ENTER THE CONTEST: There are two (2) ways to enter the Contest:

i. Purchase Entry: During the Contest Period, at any participating Shell location within the Contest Territory, spend ten Canadian dollars ($10 CAD) on any Lottery Ticket (with or without ENCORE/ EXTRA if applicable) and swipe, scan or key in a valid AIR MILES collector number at the time of transaction. Upon doing so, you will receive one (1) entry (a “Purchase Entry”) into the Contest. Limit of one (1) Purchase Entry per 12-hour period during the Contest Period. For example, if a purchase is made at 10:00:00 AM ET, the next qualifying purchase cannot be made until 10:00:00 PM ET on the same day.

ii. No Purchase Entry: On a plain piece of paper, hand-print your full name, AIR MILES collector number, complete mailing address (including postal code), daytime telephone number (including area code), a valid email address, write a maximum 100 word hand written essay on “Why I Shop at Shell” and mail to: The Shell Lottery Win Free Fuel Contest, Dept. 4504, Box 9500 Lakeshore West PO, Oakville ON, L6K 0G4 to receive one (1) entry (a “No Purchase Entry”). Limit of two (2) No Purchase Entries per person per day during the Contest Period and each No Purchase Entry must be an original (no photocopies or other reproductions) and mailed in a separate envelope, bearing sufficient postage.

Purchase Entries and No Purchase Entries (collectively referred to as “Entries”) must be received on or before 11:59:59 PM ET on January 5, 2025 (the “Contest Closing Date”). Each “No Purchase Entry” and “Purchase Entry” will be referred to as an “Entry”. In the event it is determined that an entrant has entered in a fashion not sanctioned by these Official Rules, the entrant will be disqualified and all of the Entries submitted by the entrant will be disqualified. The Sponsor will not be responsible for late, lost, illegible, falsified, damaged, misdirected, mutilated, garbled or incomplete entries, which will be void.

3. PRIZES: There are nineteen (19) prizes (each a “Prize” and collectively referred to as “Prizes”) available to be won as follows:

i. Grand Prizes: There are four (4) Grand Prizes available to be won, one in each the four (4) designated regions as follows: one (1) for the Province of Ontario (“Ontario”); one (1) for the Province of British Columbia (“British Columbia”); one (1) for the Province of Alberta (“Alberta”); and one (1) for the Provinces of Manitoba and Saskatchewan combined (“Western”); (each of Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta, and Western is considered a “Participating Region”). Each Grand Prize consists of “Shell Fuel for a Year” (awarded in the form of $4,500.00 in Shell gift cards), (each a “Grand Prize” and collectively the “Grand Prizes”). Total approximate retail value (“ARV”) of all Grand Prizes awarded is $18,000.00 (CDN). Shell gift cards are subject to separate terms and conditions. A maximum of four (4) Grand Prizes will be awarded (one (1) per Participating Region).

ii. Secondary Prizes: There are fifteen (15) Secondary Prizes available to be won, collectively across the four (4) Participating Regions as follows: ten (10) for Ontario and five (5) for British Columbia, Alberta and Western combined. Each Secondary Prize consists of twenty thousand (20,000) AIR MILES® Reward Miles™. The ARV of each Secondary Prize depends on the chosen method of redemption, available reward options at the time of redemption, and the set preference between AIR MILES Cash and AIR MILES Dream accounts. If redeemed with AIR MILES Cash, 95 Cash Miles can be used in-store for $10 towards purchases at participating AIR MILES partners or 95 Cash Miles can be used online for eVouchers for $10 worth of value at participating reward partners. If redeemed for flights, value depends on the current marketplace price of the chosen flight, which will vary. The winner must pay applicable taxes, related transportation fees, governmental levies, excess baggage and other non-ticket costs. The value of AIR MILES Reward Miles used for non-flight Reward options depends on reward options in effect at the time of redemption. Secondary Prizes are subject to the Terms and Conditions of the AIR MILES Reward Program as amended from time to time. Secondary Prizes are not transferable or convertible to cash and must be accepted as awarded.

Without limiting the generality of any other terms set out in these Official Rules, the following general conditions apply to each Prize: (i) By accepting a Prize, each winner agrees to waive all recourse against the Releasees (as defined below) for any reason whatsoever including if a Prize or a component thereof does not prove satisfactory, either in whole or in part; and (ii) Prizes must be accepted as awarded without substitution, are not transferable, not for resale and have no cash surrender value. The Sponsor reserves the right at any time to: (a) place reasonable restrictions on the availability or use of a Prize or any component thereof; and (b) substitute a Prize or a component thereof for any reason with a Prize or a prize component of equal or greater value, without advanced notice and liability. Limit of one (1) Prize per person during the Contest Period. No compensation will be provided for failure by a confirmed winner to accept a Prize as awarded. Sponsor gives no representations, warranties or conditions, whether express or implied, in respect of a Prize or any elements of a Prize.

4. PRIZE DRAWS:

i. Grand Prize Draw: A random draw for the Grand Prizes (one (1) Grand Prize for each Participating Region) will be made on or about January 13, 2025 (the “Draw Date”), at approximately 10:00 am ET at the offices of Promotion Solutions (the “Independent Contest Organization”) in Oakville, ON from all eligible Entries received by the Contest Closing Date.

ii. Secondary Prize Draw: A random draw for the Secondary Prizes (ten (10) for Ontario and five (5) for British Columbia, Alberta and Western combined) will be made on or about January 13, 2025 (the “Draw Date”), at approximately 11:00 am ET at the offices of the Independent Contest Organization in Oakville, ON from all eligible Entries received by the Contest Closing Date.

The odds of being selected for a Prize depend on the total number of eligible Entries received by the Contest Closing Date in each Participating Region and may vary by Participating Region. The entrants selected in the draws are referred to as each, a “Selected Entrant”, and collectively the “Selected Entrants”. The Selected Entrants will be contacted by email within two (2) business days of the Draw Date. If a Selected Entrant: (a) cannot be reached by email within two (2) business days of being contacted; (b) fails to correctly answer the mathematical skill-testing question (see Rule 5); (c) fails to complete the properly executed Release Form within the specified time (see Rule 5); or, (d) is unable or unwilling to accept a Prize as awarded in full, for any reason, then the Selected Entrant will be disqualified and another entrant will be randomly selected until such time as contact is made by email with a Selected Entrant or there are no more eligible Entries, whichever comes first. The Sponsor will not be responsible for failed attempts to contact a selected entrant. Each Selected Entrant is subject to verification of eligibility by the Sponsor and compliance with the Official Rules before receiving the Prize, and the Sponsor’s decisions in this regard are final and binding.

5. CONFIRMATION OF WINNERS: In order to be confirmed a winner, each Selected Entrant must correctly answer, without assistance of any kind, whether mechanical or otherwise, a mathematical skill-testing question and will be required to complete a Declaration and Release Form (the “Release Form”) confirming compliance with the Official Rules, acceptance of the applicable Prize as awarded, without substitution, and releasing the Sponsor, its dealers, agents, affiliated and related companies, advertising and promotional agencies, AIR MILES Loyalty Inc., OLG, BCLC, AGLC, Sask, MBLL, the Independent Contest Organization and their respective shareholders, directors, officers, employees, agents, dealers, representatives, successors and assigns (collectively, the “Releasees”) from any liability in connection with a Prize or this Contest. Release Forms must be completed and submitted within the time period specified on the Release Form or the applicable Prize may be forfeited. Upon receipt and verification, Grand Prizes will be shipped to the confirmed winners by the independent contest organization within six (6) weeks of verification. Secondary Prizes will be posted directly into the AIR MILES collector account of the confirmed winner within three (3) weeks of verification. To ensure that a winner receives the Secondary Prize in their preferred account, the winner should ensure their balance preferences (AIR MILES Cash balance and AIR MILES Dream balance) are set as desired prior to the Prize being posted in their collector account.

6. GENERAL: By entering the Contest, entrants agree to abide by the Official Rules and all decisions of the independent contest organization with respect to any aspect of the Contest. Decisions made by the independent contest organization are final.

7. No correspondence will be entered into except with the Selected Entrants. By entering the Contest, each winner consents to the use of their name and address (city and province), voice, photograph and/or likeness without further remuneration, in any and all media now known or hereinafter developed throughout the world in perpetuity, in connection with any publicity carried out by or on behalf of the Sponsor or AIR MILES Loyalty Inc. in connection with this Contest.

8. This Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations.

9. The Releasees accept no responsibility for loss, damage or claims caused by or resulting from the Contest or acceptance or use of a Prize. The Releasees will not be responsible for late, lost, illegible, incomplete, falsified or destroyed Entries and all such Entries are void. Entries that have been falsified, tampered with or altered are void. The Releasees do not assume any responsibility for incorrect or inaccurate capture of Entry information, technical malfunctions, human or technical error, printing errors, lost, delayed or garbled data or transmissions, omission, interruption, deletion, defect or failures of any telephone or computer lines or networks, computer equipment, software or any combination thereof. Entry material/data that have been tampered with or altered are void. In the event it is determined that an entrant has entered in a fashion not sanctioned by these Official Rules and/or has submitted more than the number of Entries permitted by these Official Rules, the entrant will be disqualified and all of the Entries submitted by the entrant will be disqualified. The use of an invalid email address will disqualify the Entry. Users spamming the same email address will disqualify the Entry. Users using an automated script or program to send to a friend will be disqualified. In the event of a dispute, Entries will be deemed to have been submitted by the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at the time of entry. “Authorized account holder” is defined as the person who is assigned an email address by an internet provider, online service provider, or other organization (e.g. business, educational institute, etc.) that is responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address. If the identity of an entrant is disputed, the authorized account holder associated with the email account at the time of Entry will be deemed to be the entrant. The Selected Entrant may be required to provide proof that they are the authorized account holder of the email address associated with the selected Entry name change. The sole determinant of the time for the purposes of a valid Entry in this Contest will be the contest server machine(s).

10. The Sponsor reserves the right to terminate or suspend this Contest or to amend the Official Rules at any time and in any way, without prior notice. Without limiting the foregoing, if, for any reason, the Contest is not capable of running as originally planned, the Sponsor reserves the right to cancel the Contest and conduct a draw from all previously received eligible Entries. The Sponsor and the independent contest organization shall not be held responsible for any problems, errors or negligence that may arise or occur in connection with the Contest.

11. The Sponsor respects each entrant’s right to privacy. Personal information collected from entrants will only be used by the Sponsor to administer the Contest and, only if consent is given at the time of entry, to provide the entrants with information regarding upcoming promotions and/or events from the Sponsor. The Contest begins at 9:00:00 AM Eastern Time (“ET”) on November 18^th, 2024, and ends at 11:59:59 PM ET on November 28^th, 2024 (the “Contest Period”). By entering this Contest, entrants agree to abide by these Official Rules. The decisions of the Sponsor with respect to all aspects of the Contest are final. The Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or associated with Instagram. You understand that you are providing your information to the Sponsor and not to Instagram. The information you provide will only be used to administer the Contest in accordance with the Sponsor’s privacy policy (see below). Instagram is completely released of all liability by each entrant in this Contest. Any questions, comments or complaints regarding the Contest must be directed to the Sponsor and not Instagram.

During the Contest Period, @shevonsalmon_ will post on their Instagram Account a contest post regarding the Shell V-Power® NiTRO+: Fuel the Night Contest (the “Post”). To receive an entry into the Contest (i) follow @shellstationscanada and @shevonsalmon_; (ii) like the Post by @shevonsalmon_; and (iii) tag a friend you want to go on a late-night drive with in the Post’s comments.

Limit of one (1) entry per person during the Contest Period. You may only use one (1) Instagram account to enter the Contest. In the event an entrant has entered more than once or used more than one (1) Instagram account during the Contest Period, the entrant will be disqualified and all of the entries submitted by the entrant will be disqualified. Entries must be received on or before 11:59:59 PM ET on November 28^th, 2024 (the “Contest Closing Date”).

By using Instagram through a wireless mobile device, standard text messaging and/or data rates may apply for each message sent or received from your device. Other charges may also be applied by your wireless carrier (consult your wireless plan for details before participating via wireless mobile device). vi. The Comment must not contain any nude, sexually explicit, disparaging, discriminatory, libelous or other inappropriate content of any kind whatsoever;

vii. The Comment must not contain any content that promotes any product or service other than that of the Sponsor;

viii. The Comment must not contain any language suggesting or encouraging illegal activity;

ix. The Comment must not contain anything that infringes or that may infringe anyone’s rights, including intellectual property rights; and

x. The Comment must not contain any personal information.

3. PRIZE: There is one (1) prize (the “Prize”) available to be won consisting of $500.00 (CDN) worth of Shell Canada Gift Cards.

PRIZE DRAW: A random draw (the “Draw”) will be held on November 29^th, 2024 (the “Draw Date”) at approximately 12:00 PM ET in Toronto, ON from among all eligible entries received by the Contest Closing Date. Odds of being selected for the Prize depend on the total number of eligible entries received by the Contest Closing Date. The Sponsor or a representative will attempt to contact the selected entrants by sending a direct message to the selected entrants’ Instagram Account following the Draw. The selected entrants associated with the selected Instagram Account will then be asked to reply via Instagram private message (the “Private Message”) to provide their full name, a valid email address and a daytime telephone number (“Contact Information”) so the Sponsor or a representative of the Sponsor can reach out to confirm their eligibility (see rule 1), administer a mathematical skill-testing question to confirm them a winner (see rule 5) and issue a Declaration & Release Form. The selected entrants will be contacted by email within two (2) business days of providing their Contact Information. If the selected entrants (a) fail to respond the requested information via Private Message within the timeframe given; (b) cannot be reached by email within two (2) business days of being contacted; (c) fails to correctly answer the mathematical skill testing question (see rule 5); (d) fails to complete the properly executed Release Form within the specified time (see rule 5); or (e) are unable or unwilling to accept the Prize as awarded, then the selected entrants will be disqualified and another entrant will be randomly selected until such time as contact is made by email with a selected entrant or there are no more eligible entries, whichever comes first.
