Shell Canada and Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC®) Canada have partnered up to help give families the comforts of home steps away from the care their child needs.

As RMHC Canada’s newest National Mission Partner, Shell will help enable 1,060 nights of accommodations for families across Canada who must travel to receive treatment for their seriously ill or injured children.

RMHC Canada operates an essential mission as the only national organization enabling access to Canada’s paediatric healthcare system. With just 16 specialty children’s hospitals serving our entire country, RMHC exists to support the 65% of Canadians who would be required to travel to access medical treatment for their sick or injured child.

“I can’t imagine sick kids being separated from their families here in Canada,” says Susannah Pierce, President and Country Chair. “We pride ourselves on powering lives through our products and activities. With this partnership, we’re helping to give more than just a place to sleep. When families stay at RMHC, they also get access to critical services such as mental health and wellness programming, and sibling support.”

With 35 programs across Canada, RMHC is part of the fabric of Canada’s paediatric healthcare system providing families with the support they need to navigate their child's medical journey, including accommodation, food programming, mental health and wellness programs and so much more.

RMHC’s impact across Canada in 2023:
