Supercharging our Power to do Good

Shell Canada is making changes. We have a refreshed corporate strategy called Powering Progress, exciting partnerships, and future opportunities to develop as we work to be a leader in the energy transition. As part of our journey, we are introducing a new era of corporate philanthropy with Powering Positivity, an employee giving, volunteerism and positive action program.

Through Powering Positivity, Shell Canada employees can choose how to invest their time and money and take action around the social causes that matter most to them. Not only do they decide how to allocate their personal giving, but also Shell’s charitable investments. With Shell providing matching grants for both employee donations and volunteer hours, Shell Canada employees amplify their power to do good.

“It is important for us to support our employees and their passions outside of the workplace. By giving more choice and flexibility in the process and by adding corporate dollars through a matching component, we want to inspire, support and empower our people to be a force for good,” says Susannah Pierce, Shell Canada President and Country Chair.

Starting June 2022, Shell Canada employees will be able to access the program online to make donations, log volunteer hours and create giving campaigns to promote with co-workers, friends and family.

“Powering Positivity gives our staff thousands of charitable organizations to choose from, the ability to add more options to the system, and countless ways to get involved and inspire goodness from others too,” says Kathryn Davies, Social Investment Advisor. “With featured charities in line with monthly themes, employee-led initiatives and events, and even some friendly internal competition, we hope our positive influence will reach farther than ever before.”
