Hydrogène chez Shell

Dans le cadre de notre promesse mondiale visant la mise au point de nouveaux carburants, nous visons à : satisfaire aux besoins croissants en transport; réduire les émissions de CO2; améliorer la qualité de l’air; et combler activement vos besoins actuels comme conducteur.
C’est donc avec plaisir que nous annonçons l’ouverture de la première station de ravitaillement en hydrogène au centre-ville de Vancouver, en association avec Hydrogen Technology & Energy Corporation (HTEC).
Ce qui nous enthousiasme encore plus, cependant, c’est de savoir où cela pourrait mener, avec l’ouverture prochaine d’autres stations de ravitaillement en hydrogène dans la région de Vancouver. Suivez nos progrès alors que nous façonnons l’avenir des combustibles de transport. Gardez l’œil ouvert : une station de ravitaillement en hydrogène Shell pourrait bientôt ouvrir ses portes près de chez vous.
Comment fonctionne le combustible à l’hydrogène?
Les véhicules électriques à pile à hydrogène transforment l’hydrogène comprimé en électricité, alimentant le moteur du véhicule tout en ne produisant que de la chaleur et de la vapeur d’eau.
Les véhicules fonctionnant à l’hydrogène, qui offrent une expérience de conduite similaire à celle des véhicules électriques à batterie, sont une solution de rechange directe aux véhicules dotés de moteurs classiques.
Qu’est-ce qui distingue le combustible à l’hydrogène de l’essence ordinaire?
Les véhicules alimentés à l’hydrogène :
- Sont comparables aux voitures alimentées à l’essence ordinaire en ce qui a trait à l’accélération et au rendement général.
- Sont rapides à ravitailler; il suffit de 3 à 5 minutes pour faire le plein.
- Peuvent parcourir jusqu’à 700 km avec un plein.

We’re here today in Vancouver on this beautiful bright sunny day to actually celebrate the formal grand opening of our new hydrogen site -the first ever in Canada and something that we’re very very excited about.

These cars are for great range, we can fill them up in three minutes and the wonderful thing is that the emissions from these vehicles is just water vapor.
This technology promises the ability to go from city to city without having to stop for long periods of time, which is what you would see with battery-electric vehicles.

Outside of Canada, in Germany, Shell has set up a joint venture with five other partners to set up 400 hydrogen stations with government. That’s the same situation we have here where we have worked closely with the provincial government of British Columbia, the feds, but also other partners, the car companies as well as suppliers of equipment – and you need all of these together to make sure that the infrastructure is built alongside the vehicles rolled out.
